Tournament tips for parents and players
!0 TIPS FOR PLAYERS
1. Introduce yourself to your opponent.
2. Call score out loud when you serve every point. Parents, coaches
cannot help you!.
3. Before serving, be sure that your opponent is ready to
play.
4. Be courteous, throughout the entire match. Don't walk across the
back of another court to get a ball until the players finish the
point.
5. Undoubtedly your attitude effects how you play, so stay positive
and have fun. Yelling, pouting, sad looks and complaining are
discouraging acts. Never throw your racquet!
6. No cell phones are allowed on the court.
7. Have a good match!
8. At the end of your match, Shake hands, Don't forget to report
the score, give the balls back to tournament desk. Find out when
your next match is.
9. If rain comes while your playing, collect the balls, report the
score, and check the draw online for updates.
10. Feel free to request an Official to help, when there is a
question regarding a point or a call in question.
10 TIPS FOR PARENTS
1. Parents or coaches must not talk to players during the
match.
2. No player may receive any form of coaching by any person while
the match is in progress. Coaching is allowed between the second
set and match tiebreak but the player cannot leave the court.
3. No abusive behavior is permitted toward a tournament official or
player by parents, relatives, coaches, or other persons associated
with the player.
4. Accept the players' line calls, whether you believe they are
correct or not. Clap for good shots on both sides and be
particularly careful not to clap for mistakes (e.g. double
faults).
5. Parents should enjoy the company of other parents and support
all players.
6. Check tournament website for rain delay's or updates.
7. Proper Tennis Etiquette, please only cheer on earned points, nor
double faults or unforced errors.
8. Please be respectful of other players and there parents. Talking
about another player's game can be overheard and considered
offensive.
9. Make sure you apply sunscreen to your son or daughter and keep
them hydrated.
10. Enjoy the time, let your child play the match and have
fun.
